POP-UP
The new pop-up space in the MARCO POLO hotel is created by the LIFE AESTHETIC team and the UCLAD furniture factory, with the participation of friends and partners. In the transformed hotel room, you can now see design items by Valeria Sergeeva from the MoNa furniture collection, paintings by artist Zarina Groeva, textiles from Linen Sky, and vintage pieces from the Otsek Vintage project.
CONCEPT
"The room's concept was built around the aesthetics of the furniture: I wanted to integrate our self-sufficient, slightly medieval items into a clean, minimalist space. We painted the walls white, left the rough concrete floor, creating a neat white canvas for the MoNa furniture. Bright art became an accentual addition to the room's space and added energy, light linen draperies with edging on the sides gave the minimalist room a touch of lightness and tenderness, while the geometric rug and vintage lighting added a note of eclecticism."
Valeria Sergeeva, Decorator, Co-Founder of the LIFE AESTHETIC Project
PARTNERS
Life Aesthetic. A course by Valeria Sergeeva and the agency Winners on contemporary aesthetics, styling, and decorating spaces, creating atmosphere, and developing visual culture. The project has been in existence since 2021, conducting offline events and creating notable collaborations.
Uclad. A Russian furniture manufactory creating furniture, interior items, sculptures, decorative elements, and landscape objects from various materials. The MoNa capsule furniture collection, conceived by Valeria, was realized by the craftsmen of UCLAD. In the room, one can not only see MoNa items but also objects created by UCLAD based on their own designs.
Zarina Groevaya. Creative director, trendwatcher, artist, and co-founder of New Extraordinary Women. Zarina's artistic method revolves around color: "Color is perceived by the eyes but penetrates the heart. It shapes the reality that I embody through the characters of my works, be it a cerulean royal duck or a woman in a shifting gray fog." Two of Zarina's works are presented in the pop-up space.
Linen Sky. A textile project created by Inga Ivanova in 2015. The brand's portfolio includes dining textiles - from placemats to napkins, a home line with curtains and draperies, and home wear. This year, Linen Sky continues the theme of a beautiful home with a line of linen curtains and robes. The colors remind one of stones, trees, and transparent clouds. Some items can be seen in the pop-up space.
Otsek Vintage. A vintage shop where one can find furniture, textiles, decor, and lighting with history: from Arredoluce lamps of 50s Italy to Cesca rattan chairs. In the pop-up room, several Otsek finds are featured: a Mazzega Murano glass lamp, rare sconces, and an Italian Arrmet chair designed by Robby Cantarutti.
